WEDDING AT ODECSALCHI CASTLE OF BRACCIANO: NEENA AND SAAKAR
Indian wedding in Italy: reportage on Lake Bracciano
Neena and Sakaar are an Indian couple that chose to get married in Italy and precisely in the Odescalchi Castle of Bracciano, a location about thirty kilometers from Rome. Both Neena and Sakkar got ready in the Renaissance-style rooms of the Castle. It was wonderful for us to become part of their culture. We were immersed in their colorful details, jewels symbolizing the status of the wedding. Neena, helped by a friend in the various steps of the dressing, was ready: she wore a wonderful embroidered skirt combined with a bodice of the same colors. Red as a symbol of good luck and gold for spirituality, fertility and commitment. The ceremony was staged with their characteristic Mandap in the secret garden of the Castle and the first one to enter was Sakaar escorted by his friends after the ritual of stolen shoes. The guests were all around the Mandap ecstatic at the sight of the Bracciano lake in the background. After the ceremony, full of Indian symbols and traditions, the couple followed us for the photo shoot in the various areas of the Castle. Just before the sun went down we arrived at the top and took advantage of the wonderful panorama that we had below us. We moved in narrow and very small spaces arriving among the highest battlements. Dinner was served in the courtyard where everything was lighted and decorated perfectly, recreating a sumptuous and elegant environment. Then the bride and groom made their entrance down the stairs, Sakaar now wore a sparkling black smoking to accompany his wonderful Neena. After the cutting of the cake, the party exploded thanks to the surprising musical rhythm created by two very talented Djs very popular in Asia.
